COMEDY & THEATRE
Stuart has written, produced and performed fourteen acclaimed solo theatre productions, earning recognition including multiple Ovation Awards, Overall Best Comedy at the National Arts Festival and the Showtime Award for Best Solo Performance.
Internationally, he has performed at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Berlin International Comedy Festival, New Zealand International Comedy Festival and Montreux Comedy Festival in Switzerland.
TELEVISION & PRODUCTION
Stuart became widely recognised as the host of the hit SABC travel series Going Nowhere Slowly, which ran for seven successful seasons and made him a familiar face to audiences across South Africa.
Through Taylor Made Productions, his career has expanded into creating, producing and directing television and live entertainment. His credits include Comedy Mixtape (SABC 2), Diary of a Touring Comic (Mzansi Magic), The Last Laugh (Showmax) and his own acclaimed stand-up comedy specials on Showmax & SABC.
Stuart has also played a significant role in South Africa’s comedy festival landscape. He has served as Festival Director of the Laugh Africa Comedy Festival, and conceptualised and produced both the Mother City Comedy Festival and The Big Five Comedy Show, bringing together some of the country’s leading comedy talent.
His work has received widespread critical recognition, including the prestigious Ovation Award, Overall Best Comedy at the National Arts Festival, and the Showtime Award for Best Solo Performance. Internationally, Stuart has performed at renowned festivals including the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, the Berlin International Comedy Festival, the New Zealand International Comedy Festival, and the Montreux Comedy Festival in Switzerland.
Beyond the theatre stage, Stuart enjoys a successful television and production career. He became widely recognised as the host of the hit SABC travel series Going Nowhere Slowly, which ran for seven successful seasons. He has since expanded his role within the industry as a creator, producer, and director through his company Taylor Made Productions, producing both live events and television content.
His production credits include co-creating and co-directing the comedy sketch series Comedy Mixtape for SABC2, producing the docu-drama Diary of a Touring Comic for Mzansi Magic, directing Dalin Oliver’s Face for Radio comedy special for Showmax, and producing his own acclaimed specials including Funny You Should Say That and The Last Laugh with Stuart Taylor.
